ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR INDIVIDUALS
There are no formal minimal requirements for entry to a JHP Care qualification, but in order to succeed and get the most from the programme, you need to be enthusiastic, committed and hard working.
NVQ
Stand alone NVQs are available for individuals of all ages, but are recommended for those over the age of 25 who are likely to have previous experience in the workplace. NVQs are competency based qualifications which reflect the core skills, knowledge and understanding that underpin a particular job role.
Apprenticeship
In England, Apprenticeships are designed with individuals aged between 16 and 25 in mind and in Wales are designed for all ages. An Apprenticeship develops job abilities whilst also providing relevant theory and key skills to those who have less experience in the workplace. A full framework consists of:
- NVQ
In a relevant vocational subject
- Technical Certificate
Develops an individual's skills and knowledge in the technical aspects of their job role. The certificate is taught by qualified JHP Care staff through a programme of off-the-job training designed to cause the least disruption to the individual and their employer.
- Key Skills
Cover a wide range of transferable skills which are used every day in the workplace and enable individuals to become more flexible and productive. The skills developed are Communication, Application of Number, Information Technology, Working with Others, Improving Own Learning and Performance, and Problem Solving.
NB. The above qualifications are available for applicants outside of the indicated age ranges, but government funding may not be available.
