PLAYWORK

NVQ - Level 3

Learners must complete five mandatory units and four optional units.

Mandatory Units

• Contribute to an organisational framework that reflects the needs and protects the rights of children and young people.
• Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children.
• Develop and promote positive relationships
• Plan for and support self-directed play.
• Reflect and develop practice.

Optional Units

• Work with colleagues in a team.
• Respond to concerns about possible child abuse.
• Contribute to children’s health and well-being.
• Work with parents and carers.
• Administer Playwork provision.
• Promote your organisation in the community.
• Contribute to evaluating, developing and promoting services.
• Organise and supervise travel.
• Manage a budget.
• Recruit, select and keep colleagues.
• Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of work in your area of responsibility.
• Provide learning opportunities for colleagues.
